Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist won her first title since the 2013 LPGA Championship to beat Australian players Sarah Chalmers and Kim An by two shots at the Saudi Ladies International.
The 25-year-old golfer, the 2015 US Women’s Open champion, opened with rounds of 65 and 66 and finished on 13 under par after a day of torrential rain at Royal Greens Golf Club in Jeddah.
Nordqvist birdied four of the first five holes on the back nine.
Teenager Ayah Yeldin was in contention until the 18th.
She began the day two shots behind leaders Chalmers and An but slipped to a last-round 73 to finish in joint fifth place on 10 under par.
“I definitely didn’t expect this, I didn’t even know where I was in the world [before this week],” said Nordqvist.
“I didn’t expect to win by two shots, but it feels great.”
